It’s August already! It seems as if the Summer has just flown by. With school approaching right around the corner, I wanted to do some cleaning and decorating in my apartment. One of my favorite DIY crafts are turning old wine bottles in to vases. You might remember me doing this around the same time last year. I had a colorful array back then!
This time around, I wanted to go with a more sleek and shiny look . I already had some black acrylic paint and glitter laying around. The only supplies that I had to purchase were the flowers!
If you’re looking for an easy DIY project to spice up your place, try this out!
What you need:
- Empty wine/liquor bottles
- Acrylic paint
- Flowers of your choosing
Step 1: Prep your painting space! I chose to do this outside on my balcony. I am a messy painter, so I need the space to paint and dry.
Step 2: Using a sponge or large paint brush, cover the entire bottle in one layer of acrylic paint.
Step 3: Immediately after you finish painting your bottle, sprinkle your glitter in a waving motion all over the bottle.
Step 4: Let dry! I left my bottles out to try in the hot sun so they only took about 20min to dry. To be sure, I would leave them to get dry for about 30min.
Step 5: Once your bottles are completely dry, add your flowers and decorate around your place!
